June Birchbox

As you probably know by now if you’ve been following my blog, I LOVE subscription boxes. Not only does it feel like my birthday whenever I get one they’re also a great deal! Birchbox and Ipsy are the two beauty product subscriptions I use. My Birchbox is only $13 a month and the samples I receive are always worth much more than that. It’s a great way to try new products and also to get items to travel with! Here’s what I received this month:

Keihl’s Ultra Facial Cream– Had a nice texture and wasn’t heavy so good for summer. Personally I prefer a face lotion with an SPF in it especially for summer but I would still use this product. Retails for $30

Peter Thomas Roth Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel– Only time will tell if this reduces any fine lines but it is a good facial cleanser and I’m all for anything that will help me prevent wrinkles! Retails for $38

Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray- I’m all about anything that helps my flat thin hair. I tried this tonight by itself with no other products and it is very light, not sticky at all and did give my hair a boost. It wasn’t anything life changing but I would take this sample with me on trips for an extra hair lift for sure. Retails for $39

CLEAN Rain Perfume– This smelled great and reminded me of an old Bath & Body Works scent. Very light, clean smell so would probably be good if you’re sensitive to strong perfumes. I always take these little perfume samples on trips with me. Retails for $44

Winky Lux Kitten EyeShadow– I received shade Frothy. I wouldn’t use it as a base shadow but it would work very well as a brow or corner highlight. It had a good density and texture and was nicely pigmented. Entire palette retails for $25

Luxie Beauty 239 Precision Shader Brush- Very well made brush, good for applying and blending eye shadow. Retails for $14
