As you’ve seen I’ve tried my fair share of subscription services. I LOVE styling services. I don’t really enjoy shopping for clothes in the store. This is partially because it’s often hard to find items that fit and also because I simply don’t enjoy battling the crowds of the mall! I started using personal styling services (clothing subscriptions) about two years ago and have used them off and on ever since. The world is so amazing now that we have the opportunity to have professionals style us basically for free! Why not take advantage of that?
Of the services I’ve used thus far, Trunk Club is hands down my favorite. This is the most personalized service I’ve used. First, as with most styling services, you answer a series of questions about your style and what you’re wanting to achieve with the Club. Then you get connected with someone who asks you even more detailed questions. Such as, what do you do in your free time, what do you typically wear on the weekdays/weekends, where do you like to shop, and how do you like your clothes to fit. Once all the questions are completed you’ll add in your payment information and get set up with a stylist! It was about 48 hours after that that I was set up with my stylist Mackenzie. She introduced herself and sent me 12 items to review. Out of the 12 items I exchanged 3 and let her pick what to replace them with. When I signed up I asked for date night outfits and more fashion forward items that I hadn’t tried before. Let me tell you, Mackenzie delivered 🙂

Right off the bat my obsession with stripes was recognized! This dress is so soft and comfortable. It hit me right above my knee and I’m around 5’1. The fabric is very light and breathable, perfect for summer. This dress would be great for running errands or really any kind of summer outing! I’m wearing a 2xl and it did hug me slightly around the middle but overall it was a great fit. If you carry your weight more in your bottom half then the top half I think you’d have no problem with this dress. I would pair this with a white pair of slip on tennis shoes or a cute sandal.

I’m loving this print! Super bright and fun perfect for this time of year. I’ve only owned one one-shoulder shirt before and I loved that one too! I’m wearing a 2xl in this top as well. The fabric was thinner and had almost a linen texture. The top elastic part was slightly big but it wouldn’t have slipped off. It’s a little shorter than how I typically wear my shirts, which is fine because honestly I’m trying to break that habit! It was a little snug in the bottom but I think it would be the perfect fit for someone with a bigger chest and smaller middle. Overall it did fit and was super cute!
Ruched Body-Con Tank Dress by Leith, $45
So this was one of two items that were totally out of my comfort zone. Which, by the way, that’s what I asked for! Since seeing the body positive movement going around on my Instagram I’ve really been inspired to just wear what I want and not worry so much about my weight! That shined through in this dress. I would wear shape-wear with it just for my own comfort (need to invest in some of that) but overall I’m in love with this dress! The bottom comes up in a V shape and I think it’s super sexy. It’s a soft, almost jersey knit material and it’s very comfortable. The only thing I don’t love about this dress is the color. I like grey but I don’t feel like it’s flattering enough on me to have a whole dress that’s only grey. So glad she sent me this, pushing me to try new things!

This is one of two pairs of shoes that I received. I do love the color and style of these shoes. I’ve never owned anything that’s Tory Burch and honestly, the price tag is the reason! I don’t mind paying a little more for good quality items but $200 on sandals is just not a leap I’m ready to take!

I love a good wedge heel. They’re much easier to walk around in and are definitely a summer staple. However, I’ve never been a huge fan of the rope look. I love the top of these and the nice tan color but between the rope heel and the price this is not something I would purchase.

If you follow me on Instagram then you probably saw that 100% of people loved this dress! I’ll admit that I was a little skeptical about the off-shoulder style at first. I’ve never tried anything this style because I was convinced that it would make my already large shoulders look even bigger and boy was I wrong! It actually has the opposite affect and I love it! This dress is a thin almost sheer, but not see-through, material. It’s very light weight and cool for hot summer days. I’m only 5’1 and as long as I wear a 2-3′ inch heel this dress wouldn’t be too long. My only issue was that the shoulders kept riding up, I’m not sure if that’s because it was slightly big or if that’s typical for this style. This dress has elastic around the shoulders and right up under the bust area creating the look of an empire waist. The empire waist is probably one of my favorite styles as it’s very flattering on my “apple” shape.

This tank is a great summer staple. The blue is slightly brighter in person than it looks in this picture. This shirt just makes me want to go to the beach! I love the different neckline and how the straps come inward. I would recommend wearing a strapless bra with this one. It’s soft but durable and fit me perfectly.

Kendra Scott products are one of the few jewelry pieces I really love. I don’t wear jewelry very often but I love how simple and pretty her items are. This bracelet is just gorgeous. I prefer gold jewelry and this is just so delicate and elegant. It has a little clasp that you pull both sides of the chain through to create almost a tassel when you adjust it. Love this piece and you could pair it with pretty much anything.

I was SO excited to try Good American jeans. I’d never tried them before and I LOVE the style of the ones Mackenzie sent me. I’ve always loved ripped jeans and I like mine to be cropped or ankle length usually. I had put down size 16 for my pants because I’m usually in between a 16 & 18 and since I’ve been losing weight lately I didn’t want them to be too big. This brand is definitely something you need to size up in. I think a size 18 would fit and still be snug. I couldn’t even get these on which was pretty disappointing but I think I might request another pair in my next trunk and just size up. This style of these was perfect though, exactly what I would’ve picked for myself.

It’s hard to see all the details but the lace overlay of this camisole is so delicate and beautiful. I’m wearing a 2xl and the fit was just OK. I feel like the top part and the straps just wouldn’t lay exactly like they should. This top would be perfect with some jeans and heels for a night out or even a cute body con skirt.

I couldn’t seem to get a really good picture of this one in the box so I’m using this one! This necklace is dainty and super sparkly. It would go nicely with several of the clothing items from the box. I’m not huge on wearing necklaces and so I did not purchase this one but it’s very nice quality for a good price.

True to the title this jumpsuit did make me feel like dancing! If you saw the last jumpsuit I tried from Stitch Fix then you noticed I didn’t love how it hugged my stomach and was not flattering on my backside at all either. I honestly just figured that I couldn’t wear a jumpsuit but once again Trunk Club proved me wrong! This one is so soft and fits perfectly! It doesn’t hug my mid section like the other one did and it’s much more flattering on my backside as well. I love that it has pockets and really feels like you’re wearing pajamas! I do need to wear heels with this which is fine and it would also look cute with a jean jacket or cardigan so I could wear it on into the fall!
Wow!! Beautiful clothes that all looked Great on you!!
