What I Love about Chic Soul

I purchased my first dress from Chic Soul around 3 years ago. When I stumbled upon their website I was instantly in love with their clothes. If I had to choose just one place to shop for the rest of my life this would honestly be it! It fits my style perfectly. Comfortable, stylish, feminine clothes in sizes ranging from XL-4X (10-22). Most of their clothing items are soft with a good amount of stretch which is right up my alley!

They are constantly coming out with new styles and restocking old favorites. Floral’s and stripes are my two favorite prints to wear and they have an abundance of those! Their clothes are stylish and classy while also being super comfortable.

Another thing that I love about this company is how kind they are. Working with them has been a dream <3. They are always doing give-away’s for gift cards and deals on instagram so make sure you follow them @shopchicsoul. They started this company with a vision to have cute clothes that flatter curvy women and I 100% think they’ve achieved that goal. They do sell out of hot items quickly so if you see something you love grab it!

Some info about my size and the following photos: I’m currently in between a size 16-18 and I’m 5’1. I will say, make sure you check the size chart on each clothing item you purchase. The dresses, tops, and jeans are all sized slightly different so you may end up purchasing a couple different sizes. The first item I received was this gorgeous black and white striped dress. I’d recently tried an off the should dress for the first time in my Trunk Club from Nordstrom and fell in love with the style. I had always thought that the off shoulder look would make my shoulders look larger and wide but it actually has the opposite affect! This dress is probably the most slenderizing dress I’ve owned in a long time. The stripes are perfectly placed to make you look taller and slimmer. I do have to wear heels with this dress but it’s not so long that I had to get it hemmed.

This next piece is the only item that I did not bring to my photo shoot due to time constraints. This very fun tie-dye romper is a perfect addition to your summer closet! It’s very stretchy and comfortable. It was a little longer than I’d prefer personally but I was able to pull up the waist band and create more of an empire look which made the shorts a more comfortable length. This romper does have a button at the top of the back, however it was easy to get in and out of without unbuttoning that. This would be a great beach cover-up or just a very comfortable outfit to wear out and about. For me, since I work from home, this has become one of my favorite work outfits!

Chic Soul has lots of amazing off shoulder dress options so I just had to get two! Tie-dye seems to be very in right now and until recently I didn’t own any! This dress is so gorgeous. I love the shades of blue AND it has pockets!! It’s shorter than the striped dress I received which was great for me. I can wear it with heels or flats without having to get it hemmed. It also has two slits, one of each side, that go up right below the knee. Another reservation I’ve always had with off should clothes is the fact that I HATE wearing a strapless bra. I hadn’t worn or owned one in year to be honest. However, about a month ago I received a shirt in my Trunk Club that really did require a strapless bra so I hunted one down. I purchased this bra from Torrid and I’m in love. It’s SO comfortable I honestly forget I’m wearing it and it stays in place very well. It also has removable straps so I can wear it as a regular bra if I choose too. It has a decent amount of padded which I feel is needed in a strapless bra to give the girls a lift! I wear a 40D and Torrid has been my go-to for bra’s for a couple years now.

I was a little nervous to try Chic Soul’s jeans because I felt like I couldn’t quite figure out the sizing. I’ve very picky about jeans and have bought them exclusively from American Eagle for years. However, I really loved all the destroyed jean looks they had and decided to try a pair! I received the 3x in Chic Solutions Skinny Jeans, Dark Wash. They list the waist, hips, and inseam numbers next to each size which is helpful because the jeans vary in size. For example, the 3x I purchased in this style was Waist:38″ Hips:44″ Inseam:29 but in another style a 3x is Waist:36″ Hips:44″ Inseam:28″. So as you’re shopping be sure to pay attention to the measurements and not the 2X, 3X etc. I’ve lost a little weight recently so I think I could have actually sized down to the 2X in this particular pair but they do still fit very nicely. They have a decently high waist, I would call it more middle waist than high, and have a good amount of stretch. They are only slightly long on me and still look nice whether or not I roll them up. I LOVE the destroyed look and can’t wait to get more jeans from them!

I have a bad obsession with buffalo plaid. Lucky for me it looks like it will be just as in style this year as it was last year!! I saw this top and just had to have it! It’s light weight which is perfect for our sometimes warm falls here in NC! I purchase a 2x in this and probably could have worn a 1x. You can wear a black tank under this and have the zipper down or just wear it on it’s own! It has zipper pockets in the front which I couldn’t keep my hands out of in my photo shoot! This shirt is so cute with jeans or leggings and I’m already picturing myself wearing it to the state fair!!

Be right back….going to be living in this sweater all winter!! This sweater is a gorgeous shade of red, like probably the prettiest red I’ve ever owned! It’s made to be worn a little baggy, however, I definitely suggest sizing down in this. I purchased a 2x and I could’ve gone with the 1x or even the XL. This also comes in black and I might even purchase the black on too because I love it that much! It’s perfect for any occasion and looks great with jeans or leggings.
